Trauma, Abuse and PTSD
Trauma often isolates a person socially and emotionally. Trauma can be difficult to process alone, and its impact can be felt in the psychological and emotional harm it causes. Trauma and abuse take away the safety and choice of the person. This often leaves a person exhausted from being in a high vigilant state, or being pushed into a numb state where the body shuts down or a person is flooded with emotions and becomes overwhelmed.
I practice trauma informed approach which helps the client regulate their emotions and triggers. I help my clients establish a sense of safety so they can take an active lead in their treatment. I work with my clients using a diverse approach including: gentle yoga, movement of body, meditation, mindfulness and breathing exercises to manage their triggers and PTSD symptoms.
